I have been taking photographs for many years now, particularly after discovering the joys of using an SLR camera in my 20s. I now use only digital SLR cameras.

I started taking pictures of my own pets many years ago, initially in black and white, and then in colour. That was back in the days when the quality of colour prints was not as good as today. I then started photographing pets for friends, and that is where the idea of WOOF PHOTOS started.

My many years of experience in painting and illustration have helped in composing pet photographs and people with their pets.

Personal Philosophy

When photographing animals and birds, I aim to take photos that try to capture something about their personality.

Photographing on-site is better because pets are more comfortable in their own environment and behave more naturally. I am happy to crawl around on the floor to get at their level.

When photographing pets with their human family, it is important to find out if people want formal or informal images and then create a lasting image showing the bond between people and their pets. I want my clients to be happy with the results and to feel that it has been a positive and enjoyable experience.

• Portable lighting and backdrops available for indoor work
